Jason F. McLennan, President and CEO
Jason is the founding President and CEO of Ecotone Publishing. He is a national leader in the green architecture movement and is considered a thought leader in sustainability.  Jason is also the CEO of the Cascadia Green Building Council based in Seattle, Washington.  Jason began Ecotone to provide information to the design community and building industry about finding a path to a sustainable future. He is the author of Ecotone’s first two books, The Philosophy of Sustainable Design, and the Dumb Architect’s Guide to Glazing Selection as well as a co-author of the Ecological Engineer. Jason lives on Bainbridge Island WA with his wife Tracy and three sons, Julian, Declan and Aidan.
Bob Berkebile, Strategic Advisor
Bob is Ecotone Publishing’s Strategic Advisor, bringing to bear his experience as a design professional and thought leader in the green architecture movement to create publication ideas and identify opportunities to encourage positive change in the industry. Over the years Bob has played a critical role in shaping the growth of the sustainable design movement as the founding chairman of the AIA Committee on the Environment (COTE), a board member of the US Green Building Council and countless other organizations committed to improving the quality of the built and natural environments. His expertise is routinely sought out by many organizations. Bob resides in Kansas City, Missouri with his wife, Libby.
Mike Berrisford, Chief Operations Officer
Mike is in charge of co-coordinating operations, publicity and marketing campaigns throughout Canada and the United States serving at the primary liaison to firms, businesses, organizations, academic institutions and media. Mike is instrumental in providing a direct link to building professionals throughout North America helping to connect them with resources to improve the environmental performance of their projects. Mike is a dedicated naturalist, environmental advocate and enjoys nature while hiking, cycling, trail running and traveling. He resides in the ecologically unique Okanagan Valley in British Columbia, Canada with his wife Melissa, daughter Haley and twin boys, Connor and Holden.
Tracy L. McLennan, Vice President
Tracy is Ecotone’s Vice President and is involved in day-to-day management decisions for the company. Tracy ensures that the company consistently provides high standards of service to its customers by coordinating the product fulfillment efforts for the company. Tracy has a strong background in marketing and communications and is an avid photographer, occasionally providing photographs for Ecotone publications. Tracy lives on Bainbridge Island WA and is married to Jason.


Melissa Berrisford, Finance Officer
Melissa oversees Ecotone’s financial activities.  She provides essential support behind the scenes, monitoring the budgets, sales, and inventory for Ecotone.   Melissa also serves as a carbon neutral analyst and consultant.  She has an extensive background as an educator and has a keen interest in sustainability and the environment.  Melissa is an avid hiker and endurance athlete.  She lives in British Columbia with her husband Michael and their three children.
Fred W. McLennan, Senior Editor
Fred McLennan is the Senior Editor for Ecotone Publishing. Fred’s attention to detail and insistence on quality at all levels is instrumental in helping Ecotone deliver only the highest quality publications to the public. He has a PHD in Educational Policy and Management from the University of Oregon and has worked in the educational field for over 30 years at Colleges and Universities in Canada and the United States. In his leisure time he trains for the annual IRONMAN Canada Triathlon held in Penticton, British Columbia. Fred lives in Gravenhurst, Ontario, Canada with his wife Sandra.


Dave Macaulay, Staff Writer
Dave is the Staff Writer for Ecotone Publishing and is the author of the newly released publication, The Ecological Engineer – Volume One: KEEN Engineering. A writer and marketing professional for more than 20 years, he has served as editor for three trade and technical magazines, managed communications for a national facilities engineering society, and written or edited hundreds of articles on architecture, design, engineering and construction. Dave lives in Kansas City, Missouri with his wife Julie, who works for The Nature Conservancy. In his spare time he enjoys Kansas City jazz, eco-travel, and – yes – working on a novel.
Erin Gehle, Marketing & Style Director
Erin is the company’s Marketing and Style Director and sets the stylistic and graphic tone for all of Ecotone’s publications. Erin works hard to ensure consistency in the standards of design for each and every publication. Her goal is to create beautiful products that reach out to design professionals so that the message contained between the covers is heard. She has been a graphic designer and marketing associate for a prominent architectural firm for the last five years. She lives in Los Angeles, CA with her husband, Shawn, and dogs, Rem and Astro.


Aaron Kivett, Information Services Director
Aaron is the Director of Information Services for Ecotone Publishing.  Aaron works diligently to provide e-commerce solutions and technical support for the company’s electronic transactions and communications that fit within Ecotone’s sustainable focus. Aaron has extensive background in information services, website design and history. He has put this knowledge to use for a leading architectural firm for the past five years. He lives in Kansas City, MO with his wife Amanda and daughter Riley.
